Throughout the week, we have a variety of activities at Bethel Evangelical Church. Check them out below, or click the calendar.
Care of Children and vulnerable adults
We take the care and protection of children and vulnerable adults seriously.
We aim to provide activities that are warm and welcoming and which are delivered within the guidelines and procedures of the church’s Safeguarding policy (available on request).
Only church members can lead groups and both leaders and helpers of groups for children and vulnerable adults are subject to DBS checks.
Sunday church
- Sunday Morning – 11:00am
We love to give everyone a warm welcome.
We are a diverse group of people of all ages (from newly born to over 90 years old!) and many different backgrounds and nationalities attending and serving in the church.
If you need assistance/interpreting into another language, please let us know.
Our church meetings could be described as traditional but the atmosphere is warm and accommodating towards all people.
We worship God through singing together, through prayer, and through listening to God speak to us through his word, the Bible.
People are encouraged to stay on and chat, with tea and coffee being served after the service.
A crèche is available from the beginning of morning church.
Our “meeters and greeters” will help you with any questions you may have.
Bibles are available for all.
Coffee Morning
We meet each Friday morning at 10:30am to share coffee and spend time together.
There is no particular agenda, so if you’d like an nice informal way of getting to know the church, Friday mornings might be worth a visit.

Christianity Explored
Is there a God? Can we find meaning? Who is Jesus, and why is he relevant today?
Throughout the year we hold a six-part Christianity Explored Group, where we eat, drink and discuss the good news of Jesus Christ.

Prayer
- Sunday PM – 6:30pm – 7:30pm
Our main prayer meeting is held each Sunday evening, from 6:30pm for approximately one hour.

Social
At Bethel, we also like to have fun!
Sometimes we go for a long walk as a wider church group.
At other times, we may have a craft session (affectionately known as a ‘crafternoon’) or simply an ad-hoc gathering of a few people for a game of ‘Settlers of Catan’.
Social events are scattered throughout the year.

Baptism
Christ himself was baptised and he commands his followers to be baptised.
The act of being baptised represents the Christian dying with Christ and rising to new life.
Who should be baptised?
Baptism is for those who have repented and believed, openly confessing Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord.
That’s why we do not baptise those, such as newborn infants, who cannot yet express personal faith in Christ.

Sunday School
We currently have Sunday school, for 8-13 year olds, every week.
During the service, just before the minister gives the sermon, the children go out to Sunday School with the Sunday school teacher, who spends around 30 mins with the kids sharing wonderful bible stories and helping them understand about Jesus.
Bible Study
- Alternate Tuesday’s – Online 7pm
- Wednesday AM – 11:00am – 12:15 noon
Our bible studies are an informal way for us to read and study the bible together, while enjoying each others company and getting to know everyone better.
We currently run two bible studies. A daytime group, held in the building, and an evening group, which is carried out on Zoom.

Bring & Share Lunch
Once a month, we meet after the service for a fellowship lunch, where we can relax together over delicious food.

Support
Life can be difficult sometimes, and it’s been made so much more so, since the Covid pandemic.
Sometimes, it’s good to talk to someone, who is willing to listen, without judgement or agenda.

The church has easy parking access, as well as easy wheelchair access.
We also have a loop system fitted to help those with hearing impairment.

Creche
For parents with young children, we have a creche in the rear room at church. From there, you can safely and securely be with your young child, with the opportunity to still hear what’s going on, and see the service through the window overlooking the main hall.
